Is it good? I can't imagine it's as riveting as that childhood.

I read Angela's ashes - was that set in Ireland? Didn't know there was a sequel. I haven't read a book since Dday - this might be the one to get back into reading (I used to read 20+ books when I wasn't teaching - I had to be disciplined or I would read all night and not be able to teach the next day!)

I absolutely hated Tis. And I loved Angela's Ashes. I struggled with the fact that he was still making horrible choices now that he was an adult. With AA, it was all stuff that was happening to him, not really his fault as he was so young, but with Tis, all on him. Just my two cents, I wanted to love this book as I loved his writing style in AA, but it just didn't work for me.

I've read all three. "Angela's Ashes" was great. "Tis" wasn't as good but I still liked it. "Teacher Man" was better than "Tis."

Thanks for all the input! Sounds like maybe I should just let young Frankie stay innocent and young and not read Tis!

Read both a loooong time ago! I remember not liking 'Tis as much as Angela's ashes. Should have left well enough alone!
