Ohhh (((WM))) I'm so sorry for your loss. I had to put my wonderful rescue dog down one day before the lock down started. It was such a hard thing to do but it was the right thing to do. One day later and I wouldn't have been allowed to be with her when she left.

I'm sure he knows you did it because you love him. I completely relate to the quiet being hell for a while. But it slowly passes, even though you never forget them.

Thanks to all for the hugs and good thoughts.

I have always had more than one dog, so luckily, my house is not empty- this is the first time since 1991 that I have had ONLY one, so it is pretty quiet here.

My main man, Bert, had a rocky beginning with me, but has turned into quite the velcro dog since Willie passed. However, he is already 8, so I will keep my eyes peeled for a companion for him- he is also lost without Willie.

While I mourn Willie and all of the pups that have blessed my life, I feel that there are so many good pups out there that need a good home- so I will continue to offer that.

((((WilliesMom)))) It is never easy to lose a family member. The ones who stand by us through our hard times are so hard to let go if we have a choice.

Im glad you are not alone to mourn Willie's passing. The pets left behind definitely realize the loss and mourn along with us. Bert knows how you are feeling now, too, and needs you as much as you need him.

A relative waited too long because they just couldn't face losing a beloved pet and it was so difficult for us all to watch. I'm glad you considered the quality of Willie's life, too.

Pricklepatch- big hug- that had to be so awful for you.

I lost my little girl pup in February, so I went from 3 to 1 within 6 months. That’s bad enough.

Awe - I am so sorry.

I think we underestimate their presence in the house when they are with us. There is such an emptiness when they are gone. The house makes noises you 'thought' was them before.

During those times, I like to think it is still my dog.

I am so glad you and Bert have each other.

Did you name your dogs or did they come with those names? The names make me smile - and give me images of what Willie & Bert must look like.

Evenkeel- I named both of my dogs.

I believe that dogs should have “people” names, so Bert got a new name when I got him.

Willie was named for “Fast Willie” Parker, who was a Pittsburgh steeler running back,

They are both Welsh Corgis, so that should give you a good idea of their looks. Those dogs are all about fun.

Oh girl I'm so sorry. My Max is 12 now. Ive been in denial for some time. He had his yearly physical. I know now I don't have much time left.

I don't know how i'll cope without him. My pup is my whole world next to the boys. He peed on xhole's clothes when I was packing his shit. He's always had my back as I'm sure your fur angel did. I wish we had more time with our fur babies.

I wish words could take the pain away.
